Island (found poem)

an island fledged with palm trees
in all shapes they lie
bent, leaned, reclined
some fallen some tall
filled up the sky and the air
green leaves shaded down
an island of palm trees

coarse grass filled the ground
scattered with decaying coco-nuts
an wild island
an wild island

miles out there
seas are dark and blue
hallow but deep
fascinating but sophisticated
surrounded the island in all sides

behind the palm trees
appear a dark forest
lying there like a ferocious wolf
a dangerous island
a dangerous island

from W Golding's Lord of the Flies

  1. Great choice of words! I liked the repetition of lines for effect. Do check/edit the use of articles. Good job!
